An Insider's Guide to AI: Natural Language Processing (Part 2)

Multi-award-winning Professor Roberto Navigli from Sapienza University of Rome joins CEO Dr Mark K. Smith to discuss his NLP research (part 1) and his latest project, BabelNet® (part 2)- the largest multi-lingual semantic network, encyclopedic dictionary and knowledge repository for multi-lingual applications.

Roberto Navigli is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Sapienza University of Rome. In 2007 he received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from "La Sapienza" and won the Marco Cadoli 2007 AIIA national prize for the Best Ph.D. Thesis in Artificial Intelligence. In 2013 he received the Marco Somalvico AIIA prize, awarded every two years to the best young Italian researcher in Artificial Intelligence, who has provided a significant, highly-innovative personal contribution to the field of AI.

He is the creator of BabelNet, the largest high-quality multilingual encyclopedic computational dictionary, and co-founder of Babelscape, an innovative Sapienza startup company that focuses on multilingual Natural Language Processing.

He won the 2017 prominent paper award of the Artificial Intelligence Journal, covered by the Guardian and Time Magazine.
